My brother Giovanni or (John) the family chemist
who lives out in Maui makes this soap. He makes the soap with only 100%
coconut oil and peppermint. Normally you don't see 100% coconut oil soap for sale because
of the cost, retailing for about $5.00 a pound, it's almost impossible to
make a profit. Well.. my crazy brother says it makes the best
soap and goes on and on about molecular structure and
all sorts of technical jargon. He tells me to stay away
from cow fat soap, or what he calls, sodium tallowate. He
even went out and bought hundreds of pounds of coconut oil. He now sends
it to me straight from Maui. All I know is the girls here at the shop love
it and I do too. So I put it on my web
site. There's no telling how long it will last though or if he's going to keep making this soap with all the expense

Coconut oil
is naturally high in Lauric Acid. This protects it from micro-organisms.
This naturally occurring defense is carried on in the soap. It also helps
to produce a hard long lasting bar of soap, unlike glycerin soaps. Lauric
acid aids in the fight of micro-organisms that may eat other soaps. These
other soaps, may become contaminated and spread bacteria to your skin.
Further washing with tallow based soaps may even feed these
micro-organisms with residual cow fat left in the bar during processing.
It is a known fact that using soaps made of tallow may worsen skin
conditions such as eczema and acne.
Most commercial brand soaps use cow fat (sodium tallowate) as a
base oil to produce their product. This is due to tallow's easy
accessibility and low cost, this gives them the highest profit margin!
Glycerin, a natural byproduct, when making soap, is then extracted and
sold to cosmetic companies for their products. This gives the manufactures
another source of profit. We do not extract the glycerin, which helps to
